Spice Girl Mel B is being sued by a real estate appraiser who claims he was assaulted while trying to take property photos outside her LA home.
Amada Aguirre says Scary Spice – real name Melanie Brown – urged her husband Stephen Belafonte and an employee to confront him after mistaking him for a paparazzo.
He has filed a lawsuit alleging assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligence.
Aguirre had been hired to appraise a home in Mel B’s Tarzana neighbourhood and on December 18 was looking for properties of similar value to the one he was evaluating.
Court papers say he parked in front of Mel B’s driveway but did not realise the home belonged to a celebrity.
He says he started to take photos while still sitting in the driver’s seat but was noticed by Mel B, who was outside walking her dog.
Aguirre alleges Mel B motioned to Belafonte and their employee Amin Zahidi to confront him.
He says Belafonte stood in front of the car while Zahidi walked up to the driver's door and 'grabbed and assaulted' him as he reached into his car.
He says he was seriously injured during the scuffle and names Mel B, Belafonte and Zahidi as defendants.
