Mel C rules out second Spice reunion

Mel C has confirmed that the Spice Girls will not reunite for another world tour.

When the girls announced that they were cutting short their comeback tour in February, they refused to rule out further concerts in the future.

In a statement published on their website, they said: "Really sorry if we didn't get to see you this time round. We all have other commitments in our lives. But who knows what will happen?"

However, in a new interview with the News of the World, Mel admitted: "When it finished, we all knew that was it. Never again. But in a good way."

Mel had always refused to reunite with the girls following their split in 2001, but was finally convinced to take part in the group's comeback last year.

"The idea of putting on a great pop show was appealing, as was the idea of spending time with the girls," she explained. "It was an incredibly positive experience. We're all older and wiser, and we put a lot of ghosts to rest on that tour."

Bon Jovi, Spice Girls Top Midyear Touring Chart

Bon Jovi and the Spice Girls have the two biggest American tours of 2008 so far, according to Billboard’s midyear charts.

The chart, which runs from November 2007 to May 2008, was topped by Bon Jovi – whose world tour grossed $112.4million.

The impressive figures come despite a relatively short break between the band’s current and last tour, as well as a difficult economic climate.

The Spice Girls, who reunited at the end of last year for a 47-show tour, came in second, grossing $70million.

The Police were third in the midyear countdown – and are likely to take the overall prize come the end of 2008.

The band’s world tour, which ends in Canada next month, is already the third biggest of all time, grossing $359million.

Have you see any of the bands in the list? What do you think about live music at the moment? Is it as good as ever? Let Gigwise know by posting a comment below.

Victoria Beckham: 'I Don't Crave Attention'

Headline-grabbing Victoria Beckham says shes hates the limelight.

The former Spice Girl, who has made a career out of being in the public eye, claims she's a "nervous" wreck and far from someone who "loves the attention."

She reveals, "I'm not the kind of person that stands there and loves the attention.

"It might look that way, but it makes me very, very nervous."

And the singer-turned fashion designer insists that her sense of style is "normal" and she is just an "ordinary" girl.

She adds to Allure magazine, "As you can see, I'm a normal-looking girl, and I just make the best of what I have.

"I'm not out-of-the-ordinary-looking at all – I'm incredibly ordinary.

"I don't have a stylist... I deal with that side of things myself.

"If I need accessories, I'll go get them myself."

And defending her moody reputation, Victoria -- who's married to soccer star David Beckham -- insists 'Posh' was just a "character" created at the beginning of the Spice Girls.

She added, "I didn't smile very much; it was quite pouty. I was famous for wearing a little black Gucci dress. [Except] it wasn't a little black Gucci dress, it was a little black High Street dress.

"It was incredibly cheap. I just accessorized it well and had the pose that went with it. And it stuck."

Mel B's Spice vow

Melanie B vows the Spice Girls will "never" reform again.

The 33-year-old singer - who shot to fame with Emma Bunton, Victoria Beckham, Mel C and Geri Halliwell as part of the girl group - says despite their recent hugely successful reunion tour, they have no plans to do it again.

She said: "We started the Spice Girls, and it's very important for us - because we're all very much in control of our own careers individually and as a group - to finish it when we wanted to finish it. So we ended on a nice high.

"We decided when we got together that we were always going to decide for ourselves when we were going to stop, rather than it whittling out.

"But we'll never get back together now. That's it for the Spice Girls."

However, despite her vow, Mel insists she hasn't shed her 'Scary Spice' image.

She added: "I'm still Scary Spice, and I'm still me! I think as you get older, you soften a little bit, and kids definitely bring your priorities into a different light.

"I don't know if I've changed. I've just grown up as a person. I don't really know what else to say about that, apart from, 'Don't get me mad!'

Victoria Beckham 'Riled' at Mel B's Stateside Success

Victoria Beckham is said to be 'riled' that her former Spice Girls bandmate Mel B is having more success in America than she is.

Beckham, 34, has failed to win the hearts of middle America with her unapproachable demeanor and is looking for ways to appeal to the average American.

A source reveals, "It riles Posh that Mel B's more popular than her. That's not only because of Dancing With The Stars and her new reality show The Singing Office, but because Mel's more 'real'.

"She's had the Eddie Murphy heartache and is seen as being more approachable -- and that's exactly what Victoria needs to try to to become now."

Victoria's bid to appear more 'normal' will coincide with major launches for her fashion range dVb, including a new set of jeans and upmarket dresses. She will launch them at New York Fashion Week in September.

In-line with the pouting former singer's new masterplan, Victoria was spotted buying bread at the Farmers Market in Los Angeles on June 15, and eight days later the entire Beckham clan visited San Francisco's Alcatraz prison -- where they shunned VIP treatment to queue like everyone else.

And her new attitude appears to be working. One major gossip critic tells Britian's Now Magazine, "I just love it when the Beckhams partake in very 'touristy' outings like this. When they're home in LA, the family goes about their days just like regular Angelenos, with trips to the Pin Taco at Century City; The Grove; and TGI Friday's in Woodland hills, showing that they enjoy the same things as regular folk. It's cute. This is a side of the family that I love to see. The normal side."

Geri Halliwell works the silent treatment

Geri Halliwell was the only star refusing to do backstage interviews.

Says our spy: "Geri objected as she didn't want to be asked loads of questions about the Spice Girls."

Poor Geri. The little lamb seems to think it's still 1997.

Mel B writes revenge song

Former SPICE GIRL MELANIE BROWN is getting her revenge on ex-partner EDDIE MURPHY - by penning a song about him for her upcoming album.

The singer was dumped by the Nutty Professor actor on TV while she was pregnant with his child, daughter Angel Iris, last year (07).

But Brown has been hitting the studio to get her own back.

She tells Britain's New! magazine, "The working title is Beverly Hills C**k, because that's what he is.

"He never bothers with his daughter. I mean, what kind of man is that?"

However, Brown admits Murphy's lawyers will be "vetting the lyrics closely".

Mel B Takes Revenge on Eddie Murphy on new album

Former Spice Girls singer Melanie B says she has penned a hate-filled track for her new solo album in order to take revenge on ex-lover Eddie Murphy.

Brown, who has a 14-month-old daughter Angel Iris with the Nutty Professor actor, has written the track to vent her frustration at Eddie, who she claims rarely sees Angel.

She explains, "The working title on my new song is 'Beverly Hills C**k' because that is what he is. He never bothers with his daughter. I mean, what kind of man is that?"

However, Mel has admitted she may have to tone down the lyrics because Eddie's lawyers have demanded to hear the song before it gets released.

She added to Britain's New! magazine, "His lawyers will be vetting the lyrics closely."

Eddie, 47, dumped Mel, 33, while she was pregnant with Angel, and then questioned the paternity of his baby.

A DNA test later proved he was the father.
