Melanie C 'To Put Music Career On Hold'

After she became a proud mother at the weekend, Melanie Chisholm is reportedly talking a break from her career.

Mel C gave birth to her first child, daughter Scarlet Starr on Sunday February 22nd. A source tells UK tabloid the Daily Mirror that for the foreseeable future, work is off limits.

"Her priority at the moment is Scarlet," claims the insider, "her music will have to take a backseat for a while."

Baby Scarlet weighed 8lb 3oz and according to a statement, both mother and daughter are doing fine. The father is long-term partner Thomas Starr.
