Minogue backs Halliwell over 'X Factor'

Dannii Minogue has sent a message of support to Geri Halliwell and the latest batch of X Factor hopefuls ahead of the show's launch today.

The latest search for UK singing talent will kick off this afternoon in Glasgow, where Halliwell is expected to be the first guest judge of the series.

Writing on Twitter this morning, Minogue said: "Go Geri! Give em some 'spice' at the X Factor auditions in Glasgow today. Good luck to everyone who's auditioning."

It is thought that a number of other guest panellists will join Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Cheryl Cole throughout the audition process because Minogue is taking maternity leave.

Reports say that the Australian star will return for the judges' houses round and live shows later this year.
