Mel C New Album (for Canada anyway)??

On several websites and EMI Music Canada, they report that Melanie C will releasing her fourth studio album 'This Time' in Canada. She plans to release 'Carolyna' as the first single from that album.

She also plans to do a Canadian Tour to promote 'This Time' in May 2008, which is good news for Canada, but what about us Brits, Mel?

Message to Melanie "You are a very talented young woman, please come back to the home of the Spice Girls and do a few of your solo gigs. People do love your music in the UK and not just Europe, so please Mel, listen to my plea. Michael xxx"

Manchester 26th January 2008 - Part 4

After Geri performed "It's Raining Men" its was Melanie C's turn to go Solo. She performed her massive No.1 Single "I Turn To You"

The song was received well by the Northern Crowd.

After Mel C's Solo, the four girls (Victoria, Emma, Mel C and Mel B) got together and sung "Let Love Lead The Way". The song is considered a ballad with me and its got to number 1 when released in 2000.

Let Love Lead The Way from Forever

After Let Love Lead The Way, there was "Mama" were Bluebell Madonna, Geri's Daughter, came on stage with her mum. Aww!!

The 20th Song to be sung was "Goodbye" and strangely enough, Geri was singing it with them. How bizzare!

Next was "If U Can't Dance" which is usually an opening song for each Spice Girl Concert.

After this, "Wannabe" is sung (the spice girls' first number 1 single). A future classic!!

To end the night off, "Spice Up Your Life" was reprised!!

Manchester 26th January 2008 - Part 3

After yet another costume change, the Spice Girls reappeared on Stage to massive cheers from the crowds. Next was "Who Do You Think You Are?", a song that reminds me of the 1997 Comic Relief!!

The Girls sang the song as though they were back in 1997. It seemed as though they hadn't been away!

Next songs were two cover versions "Like A Virgin/Supermodel (You Better Work)" which included a solo catwalk by Victoria Beckham to highlight her career in the fashion industry.

Emma Bunton was next onto the stage with a solo performance of her hit "Maybe"

"Viva Forever" was next. This was the final song that was performed with Geri before she left the Spice Girls in 1998. At the end of the song, Geri is lowered out of sight, and the next song "Holler" is sung with the four remaining girls. This symbolises her leaving the band.

Geri then comes back after the performance of "Holler" to sing her solo hit "It's Raining Men".

Manchester 26th January 2008 - Part 2

After a short costume change the girls came back onto the stage, and began "Seduce Me".

"The Lady Is A Vamp" was the first song that was sung in this part. This was the final song on the Girls Album "Spiceworld".

After this a Jazz Version of "Too Much" was performed. This was faster than the normal version of "Too Much". It was great!!

"2 Become 1" was next. Its a fantastic song and a worthy winner of the Christmas Number 1 in 1997. Emma Bunton has a fantastic voice!

Saturday 26th January 2008 - FINAL UK SPICE CONCERT

On Saturday 26th January 2008, the Spice Girls performed at the MEN Arena in Manchester, UK for the final time on UK Soil (well i hope its not, but...).

The show was fantastic. Although the girls were one and half hours late on stage, they were fantastic.

They sang every song live. The first song was 'Spice Up Your Life' which was a perfect way to lift the roof off the MEN Arena. The next song was 'Stop' which was excellently put on, with "slow" and "stop" signs filling the background screens...the girls haven't lost the stage presence they had in 1998.

Next performance was "Say You'll Be There", which was the song that launched the Spice Girls to audiences including boys in 1997. This tune got everyone dancing at the MEN, great track!

"Headlines (Friendship Never Ends)" was next and this song, Geri quoted as "its about our friendship which has lasted over 14 years and also you the fans who have stuck with us, you loyal northerners!" It was quoted in New! Magazine that this song, the girls comeback single, was in UK Supermarket Tesco's Bargain bin for 1p! Can't be true, can it?
