Flying Spice: Geri Halliwell celebrates after taking her first helicopter lesson

It seems that Ginger Spice may need a new moniker... Flying Spice!

Curly-haired Geri Halliwell had her first flying lesson yesterday, taking a front row seat as she was shown the basics of operating a helicopter at an airfield in Buckinghamshire.

The former Spice Girl seemed delighted with the lesson, with a big smile on her face as she posed outside the craft.

Geri was certainly dressed for the occasion, in combats, biker boots and a sporty vest top.

It was only in June that Geri, her boyfriend Henry Beckwith, her three-year-old daughter Bluebell and her nanny, had to make an emergency helicopter landing.

The group landed in a Devon family's back garden when sea fog made flying impossible.

Beckwith, who was piloting the five-seater helicopter, reportedly asked if he could leave the machine on the lawn until the flying conditions improved.

Perhaps next time 37-year-old Geri is hoping she can take over if things turn bumpy.
