Geri Halliwell Discusses Single Motherhood

Geri Halliwell is a songstress (former Ginger Spice) and author, and also a single mom. She admits to UK's Red magazine that single parenthood is tough and "I don't think it's the ideal scenario."

Halliwell changed her career path to writing children's books so she could stay home with her daughter and provide stability. And, Halliwell takes care of her daughter Bluebell Madonna, who turns 3 this month, without the help of a nanny. "I wanted to write, because it meant I wouldn't be at work all the time. I could work in the house and still spend plenty of time with my child."

Halliwell spoke like a true Modern Mom as she says "For me, it's that balancing act between giving my child the time she needs, but also finding something that is going to satisfy me as a working woman. That is a real juggle."

She went on to say, "I think a lot of women can lose their sense of self-assurance after they've had a baby. I was really encouraged by my girlfriends to get my high heels on and go out, so that I didn't feel just like a frumpy mother."

We hear you!
