Former Spice Girl Mel C has said that pop stars like Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Britney Spears should cover up because they are setting a bad example to children.

The Liverpudlian has spoken out against the skimpy outfits worn by the three pop princesses, saying that the current trend for wearing next to nothing is becoming their focus rather than concentrating on their music.

With recent images of Gaga in see though tops and bizarre revealing outfits, Perry constantly flashing her outstanding cleavage and Britney going all out to impress her male followers, it’s all becoming a bit to much for the clearly prudish Scouser.

“It sends the wrong message to teenage girls,” she said to The People. “They have great voices and don’t need to take their clothes off. People are going a little too far.”

I’m sure others will say the same out the comments. My sister has been a stage school dancer since the age of six, and her costumes have been no less revealing than some of those worn by the likes of Perry and Spears. It’s the showbiz profession. It comes with a “got it so flaunt it” tag. It’s the way it is.

Mel C Is working on her new solo album, which is due for release in September.
