Baby girl joy for Victoria Beckham

Beckham gave birth to fourth child Harper Seven Beckham in Los Angeles, and the Louboutin booties are already on their way.

The Spice Girl turned fashion designer, 37, gave birth to her and husband David's first daughter by caesarean at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles on Sunday, July 10.

In a statement on his Facebook page, former England football captain Beckham said: "I am so proud and excited to announce the birth of our daughter Harper Seven Beckham.

"She weighed a healthy 7lbs 10oz and arrived at 7.55 this morning, here in LA. Victoria is doing really well and her brothers are delighted to have a baby sister xx".

The couple already have three boys: Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, eight, and Cruz, five.

Last week, David Beckham took a photograph of his heavily pregnant wife in a bikini, when she wasn't looking, and posted it on Facebook.

Victoria Beckham has spoken in the past of her longing for a daughter, and it seems she has wasted no time in setting her first girl in good stead as an up-and-coming fashionista. The Sun reported that Victoria has asked shoe designer Christian Louboutin to make a one-off pair of bootees, complete with his trademark red soles.

Looks like Suri Cruise - the four-year-old daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, who are close friends of the Beckhams - had better watch out. The little one reportedly has a shoe collection worth in the region of £100,000, but the patter of Harper Seven's Louboutin-clad feet will inevitably provide some stiff sartorial competition in years to come.
