Over the years Mel B has had more than her fair share of beauty treatments, spending hours in the make-up chair as a Spice Girl and on Dancing With The Stars.

But for her daughters a trip to the salon is still a treat.

The Former Scary Spice introduced Angel and Phoenix Chi to the delights of the nail salon yesterday, taking them for a mani-pedi at Dashing Divas in Tarzana, California.

The trio bonded over the bottles of varnish, picking out colours together.

Mel, 35, dressed down for the outing in a casual combination of jeans and T-shirt, wth 11-year-old Phoenix Chi following suit.

Her daughter Angel, looked adorable in a pink outfit and white sandals.

The three-year-old, has a trendy mohawk haircut, just like her mother and older sister.

Mel, who is now married to director Stephen Belafonte, is said to be back on good terms with Angel's biological father Eddie Murphy.

The star is currently filming a new reality TV series based on her family called The Mel B Project.

The show will focus on Mel's life in Los Angeles, as well as following her two daughters as they go about their daily lives.

The singer also said it was high time somebody created a musical based on the songs of her former band the Spice Girls.

She said: 'It should have happened a long time ago!'

Mel said she was especially excited to have the producer behind Abba musical Mamma Mia! helping to make the show, based on the group's songs from the 1990s.

She explained: 'Everything is a big discussion right now, but we're definitely going to be doing a musical with Judy Craymer.

'It's the early creative parts of it, so we're just sitting down with her telling each of our individual stories, which are different but kind of the same.'
