Cowell: 'Beckham is not on US X Factor'

Simon Cowell has ruled out the possibility of Victoria Beckham appearing on the US version of The X Factor.

Beckham was linked to a judge's role last week following her short stint on the American Idol panel at the auditions stages.

However, Cowell has stated that there is no chance the former Spice Girl will be involved in his latest TV venture.

"That's not going to happen. Absolutely not. Not because I don't like her. It's just not going to happen," he told OK.

The 50-year-old reality TV star also reiterated his belief that American Idol can continue to be a success without him.

"It's like having a good player in a good football team. The two have to work together and when the player retires, the football team will continue to be successful," he said. "We made sure that when we did this, American Idol was going to be protected."

The forthcoming US X Factor is scheduled to air on Fox in 2011.
