Cowell in Mel talks

Simon Cowell has confirmed the Mirror's revelation that Mel B has been lined up as an X Factor judge.

The mogul said he'd had talks with the ex-Spice Girl, adding: "She wants to do the X Factor." But he added there was no deal yet.

Mel B would replace Dannii Minogue, who hopes to start a family. Singer Kelly Rowland is also in the frame.

Yesterday it was reported Cheryl Cole also wants to quit and have a baby. Cowell may double her salary to get her to stay.
