Geri Halliwell has revealed that she has been invited to speak in Parliament about her experiences in Zambia.
Speaking on BBC Breakfast, the former Spice Girl said that she had just returned from a fact-finding trip to the country, as part of her role as a UN Goodwill Ambassador and maternal health care campaigner.
"It's a little bit nervewracking! I mean, I'm just a girl from Watford from quite humble beginnings," The Mirror quotes her as saying.
"But I have to remind myself it's not about me, it's about everything I saw and heard in Zambia, it's for those women."
She added: "If you improve the wellbeing of women, the whole country benefits from education to the economy."
Halliwell will make her address in the House of Commons next week, in front of an audience of around 200 people.
