Former Spice Girl Melanie Brown isn't the shy type, but she admits she's had to explore unorthodox methods to prep for her upcoming burlesque-style show in Las Vegas.
"My friend hypnotized me before I started rehearsals to have a real open mind," the singer, 34, says of April 18 debut in PEEPSHOW, at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. Mel B and actress Kelly Monaco, both Dancing With the Stars alums, will appear in the racy production with topless dancers – but will keep on their own tops.
"I was getting a bit nervous. My anxiety was getting to me," Mel B tells PEOPLE. "I was hypnotized to calm me down and it worked."
Brown adds that her husband loves what he's seen of the show so far – "He's a big fan," she says – but her children, ages 2 and 10, aren't ready to see this side of Mommy onstage.
"They haven't seen the show and they're not going to," says the singer-dancer. "They're not old enough!"
