In the article dealing with the five childhood ruiners, I really do not think that the Spice Girls should be number 1! If anything, they helped girls with their childhood, teaching them to love themselves and about girl power! So what if we all cannot look like them, they were a great image of what we should aspire to do with ourselves as women. We also will not all marry someone like David Beckham but that is not going to make us feel like they ruined our childhood.
The role models today are a joke. Most of them have gotten famous for wrong reasons and promote horrible attitudes. They promote drinking excessively, making sex tapes, getting pregnant early and becoming extremely thin! If I remember correctly the Spice Girls did none of these things when they were famous or when they came back! I saw them in concert when they came to Chicago and they looked amazing! They all remained great role models, in which I think if there were more groups like them today, girls would have better self-esteem and GIRL POWER!
