Bump in the night: Blooming Mel C plays her last gig as she gets ready for baby

Former Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm showed off her growing baby bump last night as she took the stage for a charity concert in Manchester.

The singer, dressed all in black, told the crowd the gig would be be her last concert before the birth of her first child.

Mel admits 'rocking out is not easy at the moment' but she still managed to impress the audience who turned out to support the 'Pinktober' breast cancer research fundraiser.

Melanie, who has been with her partner Thomas Starr for six years, announced her pregnancy on her website last month.

The 34-year-old is the last of Spice Girls to start a family - Victoria Beckham three sons, Melanie Brown has two daughters, Geri Halliwell a daughter and Emma Bunton a son.

Mel C she will be calling the girls for advice, adding: 'They're all mums and they're all really good mums.'

She says she plans to keep the sex of the child a surprise: 'I don't know and I don't want to know. In the end I do, obviously.'
