Victoria Beckham has threatened to take legal action against Now magazine after it claimed that she is taking slimming pills.
The publication suggested that Posh had recruited her sister Louise to transport the tablets from the UK to her home in Los Angeles.
In a statement, Beckham's agent Jo Milloy insisted: "The accusation is dangerous, defamatory and blatantly untrue.
"Victoria takes her position as a role model to young women very seriously and is horrified by this hurtful, fabricated story. It is now with her lawyers."
Speaking in a recent interview, Beckham insisted that press attention makes her "nervous" and revealed that she sees herself as a "normal-looking girl".
