Memorial concert for murdered Rhys

i know i've wrote about this but these ae emlanie c's comments after the fantastic show yesterday.

Thousands flocked to a concert in memory of murdered schoolboy Rhys Jones.

The 11-year-old was shot dead in Croxteth Park last August as he walked home from football training.

Friday night's memorial concert - which featured Jimmy Tarbuck, Spice Girl Mel C and Tony Christie as well as Scouse favourites The Christians and Flock of Seagulls - attracted more than 8,500 to the city's Echo Arena.

The Liverpool Unites: Concert For Rhys was staged to help build a community centre in his name in Croxteth Park.

The stars who performed hailed the show a success.

Mel C said: "The atmosphere was electric from beginning to end.

"I am so pleased that I could be part of the Liverpool Unites concert and it is something else for Liverpool to be proud of."

Tarbuck added: "It was an honour to be in such exalted company - very sad but still an honour."
