Football megastar David Beckham and Posh Spice wife Victoria have sent personal goodies to be auctioned for disabled Daniel Davies.
And the former England captain and his pop queen wife stunned Daniel's proud parents with their surprise generosity.
The glamourous duo, now based in Los Angeles, decided to help out after receiving copies of articles in the Observer which detailed 10-year-old Daniel's brave battle to progress.
They had apparently been mailed to them by an anonymous well-wisher and they have also pledged to help out again in the near future.
Now their sought-after gifts – a signed copy of Beckham's latest book, David Beckham: Making it Real – My Soccer Skills Book, plus separate signed pics of the pair – will be auctioned to the highest taker.
Fans have a month from Friday (July 18) to get their bids in. Bids should be sent to h_davies@sky.com to take part.
Dad Daryl revealed that when his wife Heidi took the telephone call from Victoria's mother Jackie Adams she didn't initially realise who exactly was giving their campaign support.
But her surprise turned to delight when she realised it was the media's hottest couple.
The money raised will go towards the campaign to buy Daniel a revolutionary computer which will help teach him how to start to speak without him having to use conventional words.
Along with a full session of dolphin therapy – he has already successfully taken part in a partial course – where he swims with the mysterious mammals and is rewarded with further sessions as an encouragement to communicate.
Daniel, nine, is currently the only youngster diagnosed with Chromosome Nine condition in the world, which has severely delayed his mental development and motor skills.
Mr Davies, a 46-year-old manager with Parcels Force, said: "Heidi took the call and it came completely out of the blue.
"She said she was Jackie Adams and was ringing on behalf of her daughter and son-in-law's charity because they had heard about Daniel and the campaign to raise money for his Trust Fund and was there anything they could do to help?
"The conversation went on for some while and it was only when my wife again asked which charity it was that Jackie said she was calling on behalf of Victoria and David Beckham that the penny dropped.
"She said that the couple would like to send us something to help, although she didn't specify what it would be.
"Then a few days later we got this parcel with these fabulous prizes to auction.
"We are really thrilled and honoured because personally signed gifts like this will be highly sought after by fans and autograph hunters alike and there is sure to be a real hot bidding war when we start on Friday.
"We will keep it open for a month before announcing who has sent in the highest bids."
Observer readers themselves have already have come running to the aid of Daniel.
Family friend Colette Kendrick successfully appealed for 10 volunteers plus substitutes to join a team to run the 13.5 mile Great Northern run for Daniel's Trust Fund this
